Question
a 2kg block of iron (Pfe=7.8g/cm^3) and a 2 kg block of aluminum (Pal=2.7g/cm^3) are dropped into water. which has the largest bouyant force?
a 3cm^3 block of iron (Pfe=7.7g/cm^3) and a 3cm^3 block of aluminum (Pal=2.7g/cm^3) are dropped into water. which has the largest bouyant force?
a 1cm^3 block of oak (Poak=0.8g/cm^3)and a 1cm^3 block of aluminum (Pal=2.7g/cm^3)are dropped into water. whihc has the largest bouyant force?
plase help me with this three similar problems i really need the help!!
Explanation / Answer
Here ,
as the Iron is more dense than Aluminium ,
The volume of 2 kg Al is more than 2 kf iron,
Hence , as the Buyoant force is equal to weight of water displaced by the object.
the buyoant force is higher for Aluminium
B)
Here as both the iron and Al has the same volume ,
the Buyoant force acting on both the blocks is same.
C)
Now, as the density of oak is lower than water it will float , and hence, the volume under
water will be lower than the volume of Al
Hence , buyoant force is higher for Al
