=445.3 ohm

b)   the rms current through theresistor is given by

                    I = Vrms /z =240 V/445.3 =0.538 A

    c) the average power dissipatedin the circuit is given by

                    Pavg = Vrms Irms

=240 ( 0.538 ) =129.34 W

d)   the peak current through theresistor is given by

                     IR = 2 Vrms / R = 2 I rms = 2 ( 0.538 ) = 0.760 A
