Thanks for the help!

Explanation / Answer

Here ,

for the resistance 4 ohm and R2 in parallel

1/Rp = 1/4 + 1/7

Rp = 2.55 Ohm

Now, Rp and 3.3 ohm in series

Rs = 2.55 + 3.33 = 5.875 Ohm

Now, the net resistance is

Req = ( 5.875 * (2 + 7)/(5.875 + 2 + 7) ) + 1

Req = 4.55 Ohm

the equivalent resistance is 4.55 Ohm

b)

using ohm's law

current , I = V/Req

I = 26/4.55

I = 5.71 A

the current in the 1 ohm is 5.71 A

c)

Now, using current divider

I(3.3) = 7 * 5.71/( 7 + 5.875)

I(3.3) = 3.103 A

again using current divider

I(R2) = 3.103 * 4/(4 + 7)

I(R2) = 0.954 A

the current in resistor R2 is 0.954 A
