Answer-1- Behaviourism is a systematic way to observe and understand the behaviour of humans and animals. According to behaviourism, the behaviour of an individual is the response in front of a stimuli. Environmental factors are considered important while determining behaviourism.
Behaviourism was rejected and criticised by many psychologists. According to them, behaviourism was not successful in showing proper generalization in human behaviour. The language phenomena was also not described in a well mannered way in Skinner's behaviourism theory. Psychologists found that behaviourism is not truly a science of human behaviour and does not explain the concept of personality in a proper way.
Answer-2- Dynamical system approach belongs to mathematics and is used to explain the behaviour of difficult dynamic systems. Psychologists have applied this approach in the field of cognitive development of an individual. They found that different equations are very important in determining human behaviour. Dynamical system approach is based on the idea that psychology of cognition and behaviour should be described under various environmental and internal factors. Self organization is an important term of dynamical system Approach of cognition which help a person to link up by several activities. This type of cognition is encouraged in the development of a child.
Answer-3- Embodied cognition approach refers that our brain is not responsible for thinking, decision making or problem solving but our body is equally important for different thoughts and attitudes. Embodied cognition is important because it is not based on brain only but it includes the environmental factors also. Embodied cognition focuses on changing the environment of a person to improve his behaviour. It is very important to develop the skills of thinking and problem solving by an individual with the help of brain as well as his environment and behaviour.
Answer-4- Functionalism was originated with the work of Emile Durkheim. Functionalism observes the society at micro level rather than observing people's daily life. It focuses on each part of the society to observe its contribution for maintaining the stability in the society.Functionalism is an important part of psychology because it has a broad perspective. It introduced different research methods like mental tests and questionnaires. Psychologists can conduct experiments and can get more valid results while experimenting with children, people with various disorders or with animals. Functionlism have contributed a lot to study about how to a better society.
