Optical Wave Interference - Physics
PLEASE, ANSWE ONE AND TWO (IN ORDER) BELOW. ALL ANSWERS SHOULD BE SHORT AND CONCISE. IF IT ASKS YOU TO EXPLAIN, THEN DO SO.
The top view diagram at right illustrates two point sources S1 and S2. Each of the diagrams at right shows all the nodal lines (dashed) and all the lines of maximum constructive interference (solid) due to two point sources. The wavelength, gamma is the same in all three cases; the source separation is different (The sources, which are not shown, lie along a horizontal line.)Explanation / Answer
o, for constant D .. fringe separation y ? 1/a .. reducing the slit separation is the only factor governing the fringe separation.
Wavelets- even a wave around a source in itself formed by infinite number of small wave which is called wavelets.Wavelets is just like small wave. For ex,when circular ring is hit on water it produces wave.Since each point of the ring has viberation hence, from each point of ring small waves is produced and these small waves is called wavelets which together form a resultant circular wave that we actually see.The small wavelets can't be seen.
