Cassroom integration of social and cognitive skills is something that may enhance the coping capacity in them. This simply means that other than provision of tasks that require cognitive stimulation, the children are provided with social skill stimulation as well by explicitly teaching such skills. Greeting, making eye contact, smiling and other basic protocols are something that need to be taught. Therefore, simultaneously working on the skills from different domains can help in enhancing the adaptability of a child.

Other than motor and language impairments, the traumatic brain unjuries may have impacted the cognitive skills of the child. This may include basic cognitive processes such as attention, memory, planning, execution and other higher order thinking skills as well. Also, the social skils may not be directly impacted, however due to the trauma experienced, the despair and grief may have led to intentional isolation & withdrawal in the child.
