1. Do the most industrialized societies (such as the United States) have a moral obligation or responsibility to help alleviate the problem of starvation and poverty in the least industrialized societies?

2. If so, what should the U.S. be doing to reduce the problems of starvation and poverty in the world?

Explanation / Answer

All the developed countries have used people from underdeveloped countries to develop their countries, including their economy and infrastructure. It's also true that these so called developed countries have robbed the underdeveloped nations of their wealth, labour and culture.

USA is built on the blood of the African Americans who were sought against their will to work and on the knowledge power of the Asian nations, especially India.

All these countries have a lavish life with pure water, fresh air, safe shelter and medical facilities. What these countries consider as necessities are nowhere even near to the luxury of underdeveloped countries.

1. Yes, these countries definitely have a moral responsibility to alleviate poverty and help them live a decent lives.

2. US wastes lots of food and the money that is wasted on food can be saved. This money can be used to build proper water facilities and sanitary facilities in underdeveloped countries. There should be free trade policies to support the export of underdeveloped countries. Infrastructure help with modern facilities could be provided to help them improve their trade opportunities.

US can supply high cost medicine in subsidy to the countries from where they had taken more people as slaves.

Education is another issue that threatens the development of the underdeveloped nations. US can adopt villages and provide free education. It can also force all of its big companies that make huge profit to do the same.
