Explanation / Answer
I chose a global biodiversity Hotspot to write about and that is The Western Ghats of India.
Western Ghat is also known as Sahyadri which is a mountain range which runs parallel to the western coast of Indian Peninsula, and it is located in India.
The two important species of Western Ghat are -
A. - Royal Bengal Tiger - it is its common name
And it's scientific name is - Panthera tigris tigris
It is a important animal because it plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of ecosystem.
B. Asian Elephants - it is its common name
The scientific name of Asian Elephants is Elephas maximas
It plays a important role in maintaining the continents culture and religion along with it maintains the regions forests.
Asiatic lion is an endangered species and it's common name is Asiatic lion. And it's scientific name is Panthera leo persica. Asiatic lion plays important role in maintains the food chain in the ecosystem. And it is important to the culture and local history of Maldharis.
Three interesting facts about western Ghats -
* It is much ancient as compared to Himalayas.
* It is one of the hottest Hotspots of biodiversity in the world.
It is spread in 1000km and it is habitat of 7,402 species of flowering plants, 179 amphibians, 139 mammal species, and 508 species of birds.
One thing we can do to save Western Ghats -
* Saying no to plastics so that animals could not suffer along with this banning mining, quarrying and thermal stations.
