The patient who is in the palliative care treatment is the one who is suffering with a chronic disease and no medical treatment can cure it. Also the family would be under great pressure and they need proper support. For example the family or a care giver of a chronically ill patient get proper supper from palliative care centres in terms of pain management of patient and health education and psychological support.
In a palliative care setup , a non judgemental a proactive is necessary to handle the chronically ill patients. Patient is on end of life care and nobody can bring him back to normal life. It is impossible to predict the outcome also. So a nonjudgemental approach is beneficial for them.
The difference between acute nd chronic pain is mostly acute pain is the pain with a sudden onset or associated with an acute disease conditions. But a chronic pain is the one which persist in patients who are chronically ill and suffering from long. Pain management strategy also different for these two. Acute pain require effective medical management with pain killers but a chronically pained patient require pain relievers along with psycoogical support and divertional therapy.
