Question

A space station shaped like a giant wheel has a radius 118 m and a moment of inertia of 2.85E8 kgm2. A crew of 150 are living on the rim, and the station is rotating so that the crew experience an apparent acceleration of 1 g on the rim (see figure). That means that the fictitious centrifugal force causes them to "feel" their regular Earth weight. The people add to the total angular momentum of the system. When 100 people move to the center of the station for a meeting, the angular speed changes. What apparent acceleration is experienced by the 50 people remaining at the rim? Assume an average mass of 65 kg for all the inhabitants.

I know the answer is 15.9 m/s^2, but I need to know how. Thanks :)
