INDICATIONS ; tumors, ulcers, diverticulae of colon or rectum, polypse, obstructions, inflammation, CONTRAINDICATIONS ; suspected bowel perforation, severe ulcerative colitis, pregnanacy, toxic megacolon, acute abdominal pain. before barium enema exam, patient will be instructed to empty colon. patient asked to drink only clear liquids. not NPO.
