Researches says that Marijuana users differ from their living arrangements, job stability and income. They are less likely to be married than non users. They are having same number of friends like non users. And they found that all marijuana usersls are not homogeneous. Male users differ from female users. Also, younger individuals and men are heavily using this. These are the some data showing demographic association with the use of marijuana.
Subjective effect of marijuana use are relaxation, enhanced cognition and perception, improved mood, paranoia, depression and anxiety, and hallucinations. Neurological examination reveal slight increase in cortical function, nausea and vomiting, panic reaction, amotivational syndrome, acute toxic psychosis.
Marijuana use impair the cognitive function from basic motor coordination to more complex executive function task, such as ability to plan, organise, solve problems, make decisions and control emotions. The person have trouble learning and not able to apply skills required for successful recovery. The treatment include motivation enhancement therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy.
There are some factors involved in understanding a drug effect. The effect is mainly depend on three interacting factors such as the drug itself, the individual user, the environment in which drug use occurs.the other factors include time taken to consume the drug, tolerance, gender, size, amount of muscle, use of other psychoactive drugs, expectations of user, environment, mood or attitude of user.
