## The most important delimma for medical students is that patient confidentiality, it is the backbone of quality care. If they don’t keep this information protected, all trust is lost and then treatment is futile. If they don’t know their patient’s struggles then they don’t know the patient. They have to know our patient’s deepest, darkest secrets or they can’t treat them effectively. They have to know about the substance abuse, the suicidal thoughts, and the high risk sexual behavior. It is their job and duty. And they will not be privy to that information without trust. Patient confidentiality is everything.
