Question

1 the qustion is already solved can you solve this qustion with explaination and details

4 The figure shows two uncharged conductors, of identical mass and shape, suspended from a ceiling by nonconducting strings. initially discharged 4A. After charging the conductors independently with charges q Q and q2 E+3Q, which of the angles that the strings make with the vertical is larger? b) 0 4B. Follow up of question 1A. If the two conductors are now brought together and made to touch and then released again. Which of the new angles e' and 02' is larger? a) 01' 02' b) 0 62'

Explanation / Answer

4 A) the repultion forces for the two conductors are same which are :

F = K Q (3Q) / (d^2)

F = 3K Q2 / d2 N

as long as the conductors have the same weight and the strings are of equal lengths then the strings will have the same tension , therefore the angles they make with the vertical would be the same .

answer (b)

4 B) when touching each other then both will have the same charge (Q + 3Q)/2 = 4Q/2 = 2Q , so:

F = K * (2Q)^2 / d^2

= 4K Q^2 / d^2

again F is the same and tension is same , so same angle .

answer (b)
