Question
Thinking It Through
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act extends Medicaid coverage to millions of Americans, which may result both physician and funding shortages. One way to deal with this problem is to ration care.
Do you agree or disagree with the concept of basic coverage for everyone, if some treatments and procedures cannot be covered? Explain your reasons.
Who should decide which procedures will be paid for and which will not?
How would you rank medical procedures? Which ones should never be denied? Are there any that you believe patients should be required to pay for themselves?
Explanation / Answer
I am agree if some treatment are not covered by the above act because
1. There is lot of present which don't require any special funding
2. Second thing is that if we covered each and every treatment then law become so strict and can't obey by the authority
3. We provide funding resources for major and critical operations.
One commeeetty should be prepared to decide what should be covered and what not like which treatment require funds and which not. In this commeeetty there must be physicians, nurses, pharmacist, social worker and judges because they make good sense to choose. While preparing this one we can take help of history which is better for us.
I rank medical procedure based on criticality like cancers, shock , bypass surgery and other emergency treatment require 1st rank and then according to severity we have to add.
I think the treatments for poor people must not be denied and we have to prepare special rule for economically backward class.
