Question

Demodex lashlorum (the other face mite species)!

This mite eats eyelashes and causes infections that are linked with temporary to permanent vision loss. Your first aim will be to determine the transmission of Demodex lashlorum. Luckily, D. lashlorum and D. facecrustulorum are sister species and you can propose that natural history traits might be similar between the two species.

Explain how your basic research done as an undergraduate informed your current applied research proposal to control the Demodex lashlorum epidemic that has plagued many communities. Especially those with cultures that have a tradition of kissing cheeks when meeting people.

a)     (5 pts) In the first aim of your proposal, you will propose a well-stated null and alternative hypothesis that would allow you to test for vertical transmission in your proposed D. lashlorum mite project. < 50 words for both

Null hypothesis (H0): D. lashlorum and D.facecrustulorum

Alternative hypothesis (H1):

b)     (3 pts) How will you test this hypothesis? < 50 words
Do kiss cheeks when meeting people.

c)     (2 pts) Based on the results of the above study (it can support or refute your alternative hypothesis), propose a how you will reduce the spread of this horrific eyelash eating parasite! < 50 words

Explanation / Answer

Demodex lashlorum is a facial mite is generally a parasitic infections that occurs usually on the any part of the skin. But sometimes it will affect the eyelashes. The mites usually affect the eyelashes.

The aim of the study is to compare the vertical transmission of the demodex lashlorum and demodex. Follicurum especially on the eyelashes.

Null hypothesis: the vertical transmission of demodex lashlorum and demodex follicurum is no depend on the eyelashes and the target people are. Not mentioned.

Alternative hypothesis: the vertical transmission of demodex lashlorum is associated with the particular group of people. Particular mannerisms. Wearing eyeglasses and target people are older people. These people are associated with that.

2.the alternative hypothesis are tested using the following statistical analysis.

A. The study included a particular group of people having the same age.demographic data like age sex any particular habits.

B. The statistical methods should be done on mainly health care professional who are directly contact with the patient.

C. The analysis should be by doing associated factors like wearing eyeglasses. Health habits. Housing structure.

Results:

The analysis shows the particular group of people mannerisms like kissing the people wearing eyeglasses spread the parasitic infections.

Mostly health care professional were affected due to constant inspection of the patient

Mostly people who are living in the old house with bad hygienic conditions were affected from this infection.
