Sensory impairment may affect an individual’s ability to meet their higher level needs on Maslow’s hierarchy.

Provide an example of a challenge an individual with visual or hearing disturbances might have meeting their needs at each of the three higher levels: Love and belonging needs, Self-esteem needs, and Self-actualization needs.

List and discuss at least one (1) nursing intervention the RN would use to assist sensory impaired individuals in meeting and achieving their challenge and/or needs at each of the three higher levels: Love and belonging needs, Self-esteem needs, and Self-actualization needs.

Challenge

A person with hearing disabilities face lot of problems to perform their individual needs like love and belongings and others day by day activity. But in today's world nothing is impossible and nothing is uncurable.

For disabilities we have treatment of both that is medicine and natural but majority medicine treatment is not upto the mark, so everyone is focus on natural treatment only.

I have one friend with hearing loss but he play with us, he talked with all people while we are outside for shopping. This is come because he understand the language by the lip movement. From childhood he is suffered from hearing loss due to which he unable to talk, he talk but pronouncing is very different that external person can't understand.

If some major things he is unable to understand he directly told to tell by acting and the result is good one that he understand easily.

Everyday he read newspaper and discuss with friends fellow for any issue or debate. He play a cricket due to which his sensor is sharp, he run very well because he know the rules and regulations of cricket like when we have to ball, we have to catch and when we have to bat etc.

He read from textbooks and if he come across any problem then he discussed by writing on paper in detail wise.

He easily understand the feeling of friends and family because of facial expressions and touch.

Intervention

It is very hard to discuss with visually impaired patient because time.and patience require for his treatment. Family people also make some type of differences with such child because of loss of interest day by day. Hence RN intervention is very important in this case. There are lot of intervention but motivation is important amongst all.

Because person with any disabilities is with very low confidence and full of fear. Fear is about what people tell me and how I can express in between them and how I intoroget between friends.

In this case if RN motivate him that in this world human is created by gods equally. U are not different than others though it is your problem but not permanent. U motivate him by giving g lot of example of history hero and show him videos and give books to read so that can buildup his internal power.
