I need an article that discusses the CURRENT MACROECONOMIC SITUATION in the U.S., and discusses the whether the U.S. is primarily concerned with unemployment, inflation, recession etc.

Should discuss data trends on unemployment, inflation, GDP growth, expansionary fiscal policy tools, FOMC, easy money policy tools etc.

Also, what fiscal policies and monetary policies would be appropriate at this time?

Not asking anyone to write my paper! just looking for a good research article that I can glean the info from. Thanks!

You can always use Economics articles from The Economist. It gives a very good section from archives where you can read all the recent articles according to the country you want. The data they incorporate itself in the article. In other case, some other sites like bloomberg may also be helpful in data.
