As a nursing graduate, it is important to acquire the necessary knowledge and competencies that ultimately allow to practice as an entry-level staff nurse.Regardless of the type of setting,nurses are responsible for using organizational resources,participating in organizational routines while providing direct client care,using time productively,collaborating with all members of health care team, and using certain leadership characterstics to manage others on the nursing team.
Leadership skills:
As nursing students being involved in clinical assignments with clients,it is important that they prepare themselves for leadership roles.Eventhough the student has limited authority and consults with instructor and regarding decisions the student must not void making decisions in client care.The student must learn to become a leader by making good clinical decisions, learning from mistakes and seeking guidance, collaborating closely with other team members and to improve his or her performance.
organizational skills:
Implementing a plan of care must requires the nurses to be effective and efficient.The nurse always tries to establish and strengthen the relationships with clients.The nurse always attends to the client's behaviors and responses to therapies to assess if any problems are developing and to evaluate responses to interventions.
Time Management:
Nurse can experience stress on the clinical unit while trying to meet the multiple needs of an assigned patient.This can be managed by use of time management skills.These skills involves how, where, when to use your time.Because the nurse have limited time with patient, it is essential to remain goal oriented, and to use time wisely.The nurse learns to identify priorities.
