What is governemnt regulation like in your company's industry?
Does the government employ any regulation designed to ensure that competition is healthy or the rights and welfare of consumers is protected.
Would you support governments breaking up companies if they become too powerful? Why or why not?
Be sure to discuss how consumer and societys welfare are impacted by firms that exhibit market power?
Do you think that governments should always, as a rule, reduce market power of firms that exhibit market power (in order to protect consumert welfare) or should firms be able to grow to be large and power (such as Microsoft)? Would breaking up large companies as a rule eliminate incentives to work hard?

Goverment tries to see the welfare of the consumer is achieved through its regulations.
Goverment truely looks into the healthy competition among the groups so that as a whole all the people of the country is benifitted.
Yes it is better to break the companies if it becomes too powerful as a whole because then there will be a monopoly business and it might be concentrated on its profit motives rather than looking into the people's welfare. Goverment is there to look into the benefits of the people as a whole.
Consumer societies is hugely impacted if the firms exhibit maket power as it cannot cover up the whole population in the country.Sections of the population may be left out as they cannot afford their benefits.
Goverment should reduce power of the companies which can be necessity for the large sections of the people. It does not have to reduce the power of all companies which can be classified in the group of luxuries as it might effect the company's economic growth.
