The article written by the author Samuel P. Huntington shows the immigration taking place in the US from people across the world. It shows a survey that tells that more than one percent of the population of the country shows rise in the rate of immigration. This started off after 1790 when he rate of immigration started and doubled the population of the United States. Ever since then, it has raised so much that the count of US origin shows half of the immigrant people. It shows advantage for the country and disadvantage as well. The rise of 10 percent population is foreign born in the US. The immigration of Mexican to the US has been facing many challenges in the US. It happens because of many factors which shows difference in the economic conditions and stability in the Mexico as compared to the United States. There is lot of financial issues giving rise to high rate of unemployment in Mexico which leads to immigration to the US. The huge population of Mexico had lead to immigration in the past to China which showed foreign born to be 4% and in Filipinos too had foreign born (Mexican) population to be 4%. There have been large number of non english foreign born Mexican immigrants till 1965. There have been large number of illegal immigration taking place from Mexico since 1965 which as per the survey conducted have shown 62 percent of those entering to the US. It increased to nine times more in the year 1997 as per the reports estimated by Immigration and Naturalisation Services. There has been high concentration of immigrants from Mexico in Southwest and South of California. There must be dispersion of immigrants to different cities of US just like those in the Irish in Boston who had dispersed the immigrants to various other cities to avoid huge concentration of different immigrant groups. It is seen that Southern California has large population of Mexican immigrants that there schools and educational institutions are experiencing flux of single foreign country students. It showed that the political support to these immigrants for vote banks could not restrict them to increase their population from such immigration act. The role of Mexican immigration has become pivotal in making the US as bilingual as well as bicultural nation. Today, the illegal immigration has decreased and immigration due to education and job opportunities have increased. This has affected rise in the economy as well. The rise in security have stopped illegal immigration from Mexico. There are many challenges faced by the US in maintaining the security across the borders.
The author shows the subject in as a very unusual immigration causign challenge to the Unied States. This has affected the security of the nation from illegal immigration long time back. The US have worked upon the international borders security that today the rate of illegal immigration has declined drasctically. The immigration happening these days is based upon education and job opportunities required for the upliftment of the economy of the nation. Although the US have become bilingual and bicultural nation still there is proper security taken place so that illegal immigration could not happen in future.
The article is considered to show variation from the times when illegal immigration used to be at peak by mostly Mexicon origin. Today there has been various security implications conducted in order to stop infiltration. The loss of Mexico from the United States ever since the Mexican War formed loss of its national territory to the later. They are made to feel inferior by Southwest of America which have former been a part of Mexico before war. It shows distinctive variation of their existence from other immigrants. The rate of naturalisation is low in the US for Mexicans which propagates about 60% illegal immigration of Mexican origin. It shows the challenges faced by Mexican for maintaining a cultural and national identity integrity.
It is concluded that the illegal immigration is a threat or the security of the US. Ther must be immigration for promoting the economy of the nation from job opportunite and educational programs offered to immigrants to the US.
