1. What is the relationship between Psn and respiration at various light conditions?

Complete the table above, by typing in your answers

Column A: insert: Psn > respiration?   OR Psn < respiration? OR Psn = respiration?

Column B: give an agronomic example of the situation

Conditions

A. Photosynthesis vs respiration

B. Example of this situation

C. Overall result

Dark

Dim

Bright sunlight

Explanation / Answer

Dark: psn=0, respiration. during hours of darkness, plants cannot perform photosynthesis so they do cellular respiration in the mitochondria just as all living organisms do.

Light: psn<respiration. Psn ovcurs well in good sunlighy. But respiration occurs all the time

B. Bright light: psn>respiration. This time plant absirbs more sunlight and converts to energy.
