Question

Legalization of Marijuana

For years, there has been the argument on whether the government should legalize marijuana or not. This resulted from the increase in cases of marijuana use in the country. It is evident that most of the youths use marijuana and this has raised government concern on whether to legalize it or not. Currently, there is public support for marijuana law reform as approximately half of the country is in favor of accepting marijuana use (Ferguson, 239). There are campaigns that are conducted countrywide with the intention of seeking assistance from citizens in the attempt to legalize marijuana. The government considers marijuana as an illegal drug, and this has made it hard to legalize it even after half of the country want it to be legalized. Drug Policy Alliance is working on the campaigns on the legalization of marijuana, and the campaign has already started in New York and New Jersey. The only thing that is remaining is the law that will officially legalize the use of marijuana in the country.

LEGALIZATION:

Consider to other deadliest drugs we have rare cases to get killed by addiction of marijuana. But why is Marijuana banned? To be honest marijuana is not fully legalised, but only with several restrictions. In California and other states Marijuana is legalized only for medical purposes.

In my opinion I do support to legalize marijuana because of many reasons. If it is legalized the supply to teen and youth can be controlled. If this is legalized, then many people don't do cocaine, heroin, meth and other drugs. By legalizing marijuana government could also benefit very much through taxing it and would bring billions of dollars to our economy.

My point to support legalization of marijuana is that even if we don't legalize, people don't stop using it. So I would think it would be better to legal and set limits which would benefit economy too. If anyone do oppose legalization of marijuana, my question for them would be.. How we legalized alcohol and tobacco which are even more harmful than marijuana??
