The rate of change of CO2 from the period 2004 to 2014 is calculated as

in 2004 the CO2 levels was 365 ppm and that in 2014 was 395. Thus rate = (final conc. - initial conc)/delta T

= (400-365) / 2014-2004 = 35/10 = 3.5 ppm/yr

now as it increases 3 per year thus to increase 50 (450 - 400 ) ppm it will take around 50/3.5 ie 14.28 years

Thus it will reach at 450 ppm at 2014 + 14.28 years = 2028.28 approximately equal to 2029 years
