international Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. International Women's Day first emerged from the activities of labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe.Since those early years, International Women's Day has assumed a new global dimension for women in developed and developing countries alike. The growing international women's movement, which has been strengthened by four global United Nations women's conferences, has helped make the commemoration a rallying point to build support for women's rights and participation in the political and economic arenas
Explanation / Answer
Women are not any more a ssupporting cast and inferior to its male counter part in the society or in family. The increased participation of women in all spheres of life has strengthened her position around the globe. The new position that women have acquired in the socoety today only sets goals to be reached out farther and not stop here.
The article doesn't discuss the challenges that women has faced. The severe discrimination against women need to be emphasised so as to show the relative weightage of what has been achieved. Not discussing the discrimination and challenges that women of all societies and at all levels faced fades the grace of what has been achieved and prsents these achievements as a consolidation from the society for her service. We have instead as a fact put up a brave battle against discrimination and this empowerement has come up after a pronged battle of self essteem.
