FUN WITH ECONOMIC RELATIVITY F WE WERE IN BANGLADESH, YOU'D BE RICH! THIS TRASH WOULD BE A TREASURE! THIS DUMPSTER WOULD BE A CASTLE! MAYBE I'LL MOVE THERE WHAT?! AND LEAVE AMERICA?

Explanation / Answer

Answer 1:- The logic behind the man lying in the dumpster is that in the article the writer wants to show that the level of poverty in Bangladesh is quite severe than in the USA,

Answer 2:- The person in the dumpster is using the newspaper as a cover for himself which shows that he does not have economic resources to fulfill his basic necessities.

Answer 3:- The other person represents the well to do and wealthy class of the USA who can afford good cloths, newspaper and have greater information about the external world..

Answer 4;- If we look at the cartoon, it is quite clear that the USA has a greater economic development than Bangladesh as the person seems to be better off in the USA.

Answer 5:- The main logic behind having the title as "Fun with Economic Relativity" is that firstly the cartoon shows some humor and it tries to explain the he difference between the two countries’ economic situation that even dumpster has greater value in the economies like Bangladesh

Answer 6:-The Cartoonist implies that the rich don't really understand the problems of the poor and see the poor as "lucky" just because they are in the US, not understanding that the poor in the US are truly struggling, even if maybe their situation might not be as desperate as of the poor in Bangladesh. (which is not sure - it's not clear whether the poor have it worse in the US or in Bangladesh).
