Question
2. Your sister just invented a process that can turn ordinary dirt into bread. Her invention can potentially eliminate world hunger, and it was immediately recognized with a patent (monopoly rights). However, the patent has generated nasty press coverage against your sister and her property rights. You are her Senior Economist; write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper/magazine to defend your sister and her invention. [NB: You are an economist; it is not economics to just say she is a nice person and you love her.]

Recently we have came across to an excellent development which could be a game changer. One of young and bright mind just invested a process by which we can make dirt into a bread. This is a boon for people as it could deal with perennial shortage of food. I have been watching some news reports from African nations like Congo and Liberia where people are dying because they don't have food to eat. Similarly, part of Indian population also suffers from malnutrition. Such invention will too much beneficial for them.
Some voices are airing criticism about patent of this invention, I would like to point out that it is a necessary for intellectual property rights. It's reason is not influenced by profiteering but to protect from the people who could use it for profiteering. Further, it should be noted that if wouldn't give proper protection and reward for any such invention then it will be difficult to for the society because there wouldn't be any incentive to dos such job.
I sincerely request people through this medium not to discourage those rare talents who would like to dedicate their efforts for better future of mankind.
