Geoarchaeology can be defined as the brance which is multi-discipline in nature and which uses the techniques and data of geography, geology and earth science with muti dimensional path to investigate and examies various phenomenon related to earth processes and archeological events on earth.
difference between systemic and archeological contex-
Systemic- It can be defined as or we can say refers to something which is spread throughout the system and effect a place or a group or related to some market places. for the case of earth system then it overlap and spread the earth system throughout.
Archeological- It can be defined as the brance of earth science which deals with the utilizing the techniques of earth, geography and its processes for understanding and examine the earth processes.
This difference matter because in case of the systemic the concept is spread and based on throught the system but for the case of archeological, it just focus on the same thing as that of earth process and it not spread throughout. it matter to make us understandable the fact of system and relations between them.
Law of Superposition- This law is demonstrating us that "in any undisturbed sequence of rock which get deposited in the form of layers, the youngest layer is on the top and oldest on bottom. there will be each layers younger than the layer of beneath it or down to it".
Difference between relative and absolute dating-
Relative Dating- This is a technique which is used to assemble or arrange the geological event and rocks which they leave behind in a perticular sequence. it does not provide actual numerical date for the rock. it is used to determine the relative order of past event.
Absolute Dating- It is a technique which is used to determine the age of a chronology in the processes of arheology or geology. in this method the specimen is specified and have the proper orientation. from this basis of orientation and eological location and events, it is very easy to determine the age of the sample.
major dating technique-
1) amino acid dating= used in paleobiolog, molecule paleontology (3.5-5) million years
2) archeomagnetic dating= used for earth magnetic field and archological materials (3-5) million years
3) argon-argon dating= used for geochronology and archeological materials (1.2-5) millions years
4) uranium-lead dating= used to determine age of earth rocks about 1 million years old (2-4)millions years
5) potassium argon dating= archeological and forensic science materials (1.3-2 ) million years
The major dating techniques of historic sites are relative dating and absolute dating. as in both methods we are use to find the age of specimen which is very old and can be takan as archeological materials.
Archeologist and Earth Geologists dates date. it is because to the fact that they are relavent to the archeological sites and there interest of work is based upon the historical sites or ancient time materials or locations.
From the view point of an earth science geologist, these all above situations and process are a kind of interesting field for him to work. it give the feel of adventure or like make us to feel mysterious about the old material which we hold in our hand that how old it might be and other good feelings.
