1. "The Creation, Death, and Rebirth of the Universe" describes life as a continuously repetitive cycle. What aspects of life support such a view? What aspects do not?

2. In addition to the view of life as a continuously repeating cycle, we also see evidence of other views in "The Creation, Death, and Rebirth of the Universe." One of these views is that life continues to get better over time, and another view is that life continues to get worse over time. Which of these three views do you find most realistic? Why? You must back up your ideas with proof from another myth we have read this term - use another myth we have read to support your ideas about the nature of life as either a cycle, constantly improving, or constantly getting worse.

3. Why do you think the storytellers who first created the myth of Ganesha had him be created solely by his mother? What might this mean? Why do you think they had the god Shiva kill him?

4. What does Ganesha's elephant head suggest about the society that created this myth? Keeping in mind what Ganesha is the deity of, why do you think he has the head of an elephant rather than a man?

Explanation / Answer

1- according to the hindu methology the universe was created by lord bramha joined ina a divine tread with vishnu and shiva, who were the creator and ditroyer respectivily. the creation and end of the universe is wrriten as lord bramha creats the univers preserved by lord vishnu and ditsroy by lord shiva for the next creation.

death according to the hindu methology is a process of change through which an indivdual passes. the brihadaranyaka upanishad describes thus passing of soul : A soul do take born in an body and leave its life the age of the body depends upon the way he live its life. when the soul departs from the body ,the life birth follows :when the life-birth departs ,all organs follow.then the soul become endowed with perticularized consciousness ad goes to the body which is related to that consciousness and it continues.

if you do good for someone you will get good this aspects support this.

2- life is a cycle , and life do get worse with time as you can see a human life an individual starts life being a kid every one have care for the kid after that the individual grows up and he is more energetic more ambitious , than school , games , career but after all the individual reach to the old age which is not that energetic not full of new things and he died. why this happens because some of source of our bodies are limited because of which every one have to see the worst part and who died because of other circumstances before age they go through diffrent types of problems. same happens with world and same happens with universe to well if world will end up whose here to see universe but why I said same will happen to the world because we do have some natural resorces which we are using so frequently and they will end after a period which will lead to the end but at the end of the world everything will go inside the earth and it will come on the top again with a new start and with again full of sources.thios is how the preocess goes again and again like magma comes out of the volcanos every thing will be merged in the earth and comes out with new earth.

3- the myth of ganesha that her mother created him solely the fact was that lord parvati is a divine this showes her power she was married to lord shiva ,one day godess parvati was prepared for bath and dont want to get disturbance so she created lord ganesha from sandelwood and ask him to gaurd the door and before making lord ganesha she asked to gaurd the door to shivas bull nandi but she thought if lord shiva came and he wanted to pass the door nandi will let him pass because nandi was first loyal for lord shiva so she she created to lord ganesha, after some time god shiva came home and wanted to pass the door of home but god ganesha intrupted him even after knowing that he is husband of godess parvati becasue ganesha waas only loyal for parvati. lord shiva is the most calm god but when he got angry its so much dangerous so in anger god shiva kill god ganesha.

4- fixing god ganeshas head with a elephant shows that there is no discrimination in living things and people do honour every living thing which is made by god. if his head is fixed by a human head than in that case lord shiva have to kill a human being so it was fixed by the head of an elephant.
