a) first one is isothermal expansion from P1,V1,T1 to P2, V2 and T1, since the gas is ideal, the change in internal energy for isothermal process for an ideal gas is zero.

b) Reversible adiabatic expansion from P2,V2, T1 to P3,V3, T2

for adiabatic expansion, Q=0 and first law of thermodynamics can be written as

deltaU= W+Q becomes, deltaU= W = R*(T2-T1)/(Y-1)

where Y= CP/CV, where Cp = specific heat constant pressure and CV= specific heat at constant volume.
