Explain the main differences between mid-latitude cyclones and tropical cyclones
Combine 1) what you’ve learned about the negative effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on soil -- please be specific -- with 2) the US map showing where most organic cropland and farms are located (Agriculture powerpoint) as well as 3) the map showing soil types across the U.S. in order to do the following:
Theorize and explain why the soil in the US south (ultisol) is of such low quality. You can also add in other factors that these two maps may not have addressed, such as historical factors in the region
Explanation / Answer
Answer:
Mid latitude cyclones are characterised by the low pressure system and presence of frontal boundaries with rotaion of counterclockwise. Whereas tropical cyclone are the massive and drastic cyclone which characterised by the presence of strong winds and forms over the warm oceans.
The use of excessive chemical fertilizers makes the soil unfertile and looses natural nutrients of the soil which supports in agriculture. Therefore, in southern part of country, the soil are in ultisol form which are red to gray in colour. Ultisols are the product of weathering product and having low nutrients due to excessive weathering.
