Question

Nitrogen, N2, has the following properties: normal melting point: 63.2 K normal boiling point: 77.4 K triple point: 0.127 atm, 63.1 K critical point: 33.5 atm, 126.0 K Which statement about N2 is correct? (A) Liquid N2 is denser than solid N2. (B) At sufficiently high pressure, N2 can be liquefied at 150 K. (C) Liquid N2 and gaseous N2 can coexist at 63.1 K and 1 atm. (D) IfN2 is heated from 60K to 70K at 0.100 atm, it sublimes. Please explain why the answer is D Nitrogen, N2, has the following properties: normal melting point: 63.2 K normal boiling point: 77.4 K triple point: 0.127 atm, 63.1 K critical point: 33.5 atm, 126.0 K Which statement about N2 is correct? Explanation / Answer

Ans B is wrong because its critical temp. is 126k,any gas can not be liquify above its critical temp and pressure.ans c is wrong because the triple point exist at 0.127 atm not at 1atm.So the last option is correct because N2 gas can sublime in between 60-70k,below 1atm.
