Question
Nitrogen and hydrogen react to form ammonia, like this: N2(9)+3H2(9) 2NH 3(9) The reaction is exothermic. Suppose a mixture of N2, H2 and NH3 has come to equilibrium in a closed reaction vessel. Predict what change, if any, the perturbations in the table below will cause in the composition of the mixture in the vessel. Also decide whether the equilibrium shifts to the right or left. change in composition shift in equilibrium perturbation to the right to the left The temperature is lowered The pressure of H2 will n (none) to the right to the left (none) The temperature is raised. | The pressure of NH, willExplanation / Answer
forward Reaction is exothermic,so if we increase the tempreture it decrease the rate of exothermic reaction..
so by increase the tempreture equllibrium shift to backward dirction..it meams more reactant is formed so pressure of H2 increases..
if tempreture decreases then reaction equllibrium shift in right side,so product conenration increases hence the presssure of NH3 increases...
