Explanation / Answer

Ans 6 . Using a very basic concept that like dissolves like, we can separate the mixtures .

We all know that naphthalene is organic compound and the other two given compounds are inorganic .

So , the following procedure can be used :

1.place the mixture in an organic solvent like acetone .The naphthalene being organic remains dissolved in the acetone while the other two sulphates will precipitate out .

2.extract naphthalene by crystallisation process.

3.Now ,place the ppt. of sulphates in water . We know that BaSO4 is insoluble in water ,so it will precipitate out and K2SO4 remains in water .

4. Extract potassium sulphate by crystallisation .
