Question
What I am trying to do is compare the R that is ideally used in the ideal gas equation (8.3145). I just need to formula to find R from scratch. I used R=m^3 x Pa/mol x k. This obviously doesnt work becuase my temp is in celcius and there in a way to solve this with the given data. The screen shot below shows what needs to be looked at. I can hadle the perrcent error, I just need to know how to get R for these three cases below:
Using PV=nRT find R for each data point place in:
a. Column G for the column A and B data
b. Column H for the column C and D data
c. Column I for the column E and F data
Explanation / Answer
Solution:
The methodology to find R is by using the formula R = PV/nT while calculating you cannot calculate with the units as they given, it must have to be made consistent for smooth calculation.
For this you convert pressure from Pa to atm and make sure of Temperature in K kindly keep volume as m3, by using this conversion you get the near value of R to the standard one.
