Question
The widths of copper lines in printed circuit boards must be close to a specified value. Three manufacturers were asked to prepare circuit boards with copper lines that are 0.400 m (micrometers) wide. (1 1 x 10-6 m.) Each manufacturer's quality control department reported the following line widths on five sample circuit boards (given in micrometers): rPru facturer! What is the range of the data provided by each manufacturer? Manufacturer #1 Number Manufacturer #3 amberExplanation / Answer
Dear Student please let me know if you need anything else. Question a & c are not very clear to me.
a)
Manufacturar 1
Range is 0.402 to 0.413 micron
Variation is 0.011 micron
Manufacturar 2
Range is 0.410 to 0.411 micron
Variation is 0.001 micron
Manufacturar 3
Range is 0.400 to 0.402 micron
Variation is 0.002 micron
b)
Lower the variation in data better the precision
So manucaturar 2 is best in terms of precision.
Althought in terms of accuracy manufacturar 3 is best.
c)
Manufacturara 1 certainly misleading in its claim. Its neither precise nor accurate
Manufacturara 2 is best in terms of precision, however in terms of accuracy its not the best
Manufacturara 3 is not as precise as Manufacturara 2, however in terms of accuracy its the best among all the manufacturar
