Question

1. If the concentration of protein to be added in a buffer is 13 mg/ml, does this mean 13 mg of protein needs to be dissolved in 1 ml of buffer?

2. If the concentration of protein provided to me is 80 mg/ml, how do i prepare concentrations of 60, 40, 20 and 10 mg/ml from 80 mg/ml?

3. I need to prepare 5 ml of each concentration of protein (80, 60, 40, 20,10) in 4 buffer solutions. That means 20 samples in total. How much volume will i require of the protein of initial concentration (80 mg/ml)?

thanks and i would like to request whoever provides the solution to be very thorough as chemistry is not my area of study.

Explanation / Answer

1. Concentration of protein added in a buffer = 13 mg/ml,

means13 mg of protein needs to be dissolved in 1 ml of buffer

for part 2 and 3 volme of the solutions to be prepared is required
