Explanation / Answer

1(a). The given two water tanks at right are in dynamic equilibrium with each other. The water level in both the tanks is always equal. If any amount of water is coming out of the first tank, the same amount of water will be transfered from the second tank to the first tank and at the same rate such that the level of water in both the tanks is always equal.

(b). When the faucet on the right tank is opened, water from the right tank flows out and the level of water in the right tank starts to decrease. According to LeChatlier's principle, in order to maintain the equilibrium between two tanks eual amount of water flows fron the left tank to the right tank and at the same flow rate.

(c). When water is added to the right tank, the water level in the right tank will increase. In order to maintain the equilibrium between two tanks, water from the right tank will flow to the left tank until the level of water in the two tanks becomes equal.
