Question

I'm not sure how to calcualte everything given the uncertainties. Typically I'd just plug in and find Q, but I don't know how to include the uncertainity in it. Please let me know!

4) (6 pts) Muscles cells contain phosphocreatine (PC), as a source of phosphoryl groups that can be used to quickly convert ADP to ATP, in a reaction catalyzed by creatine (CR) kinase PC + ADP ATP + CR A mixture of PC, ADP, ATP and CR is prepared, and allowed to reach equilibrium. The concentrations of the 4 species are then measured using NMR spectroscopy, with results: [PC]= 1.0 +/- 0.2mM [ADP]= 1.1 +/- 0.2mM [ATP] = 10.4 +/- 0.4mM [CR]= 24.5 +/- 0.5mM (data at 25.0 +-0.1 C) (a) (2 pts) Use the given concentration data to determine the standard free energy (AG) of the reaction at 25 +/- 0.1 C. Hint: AG AG RTln (O) where Q = [CIcpid / [A]a[B]b for aA + bB => cC + dD (b) (4 pts) Find the maximum uncertainty in your calculated value of AGo" that is consistent with the given uncertainties in the concentrations and temperature. For full marks, show your work in a neat and well-organized manner. Hint: d(ln x) / dx = 1/x

Explanation / Answer

Since it is much more clear that, you have an idea about solving the question.

The easiest way to calculate the uncertainity is first calculate the delta G of the reaction at maximum temperature 25+0.1 C with all largest value of the concentration.

Then do the same for smallest value with temperature at 25-0.1 C

Then take the average for both .once with addition and other time with substraction.

The additive one will be your final value and subtractive one will be your uncertainity. in delta G
