Question
Titration : How do you calculate the average concentration of Unknown solution when titration is done 3 times.
Lets say that you know the concentration of titrant, lets say its 0.01069 M. The volume of unknown solution used is 10 ml, And Soichimetry mole ratio is 1:1
Now you perform 3 titration,
The first titration shows the reading of titrant to be 33.01 ml
The second one shows the reading 33.30 ml
The third one shows the reading 33. 20 ml
And you have used same titrant for all three titrations
I know how to calculate the Concentraion of the unknown solution for 1 titration but dont know how to calculate the average conc for all 3.
Explanation / Answer
concentration of titrant= 0.01069M
from M1V1= M2 V2
M2= M1V1/V2= 0.01069*33.01/10 = 0.035384 ( first tiration)
M2= 0.01069*33.3/10 = 0.035398 ( second titration)
M2= 0.01069*33.2/10= 0.035491 ( third titration)
Average concentration (0.035384+0.035398+0.035491)/3 =0.035459M
