Question

In one paragraph, list your unknown # and the anions it contained. State your identity with a short reference to the chemical test(s) you performed to ident describing your observations and chemical tests for each identified unknown. A. DATA ANALYSIS QUESTIONS Identify the anions that were present in your unknown solution. As you prepar the following: 1. Discuss the use of Ksp and solubilities to separate AgCI from AgBr and Agl. 2. Explain why the test for I must be done before testing for Br. 3. Write the half-reactions that describe the test that you conducted for NOs B. FLOW CHART Create and attach a one or two-page flowchart that shows the major analytical flowchart should help someone analyze a solution containing any of the anions at each step, your flowchart should clearly label the ions or complex ions, and/o physical state. Each step should also include the chemicals added or changes ap

Explanation / Answer

Answer for 1 and 2:

1. Ksp value in water at room temperatute for AgCl = 1.77x10-10,          AgBr = 5.2 x 10-13,      AgI = 8.3 x 10-17

2. Ksp values is clearly indicating that AgI is very less soluble in compared to AgCl and AgBr which permits the precipitation of AgI quickly. That's why I- taste should performed before Br-. Also AgCl and AgBr are isomorph, forms mixed crystal while AgI is not isomorph.
