Explanation / Answer

CaCO3 + 2 HCl -------> CaCl2 + H2O + CO2

1 mole of CaCO3 produces 1 mole of CaCl2

100 g of CaCo3 produces 111 g of CaCl2

28 g of CaCO3 produces 111/100 * 28 g of CaCl2 = 31.08 g of CaCl2

2 moles of HCl produces 1 mole of CaCL2

2 * 36.5 g of HCl produces 111g of CaCl2

11 g of HCl produces 111/(2*36.5) *11 = 16.73 g of CaCl2

hence HCl is limiting reagent. the produced CaCl2 is 16.73 g

and 16.73 g of CaCl2 requires 100/111 * 16.73 = 15.072 g of CaCO3

Remaining CaCO3 = 28 - 15.072 = 12.928 g
