Answer:
The humanists seem to have been well educated people (mostly men), who helped guide the world towards what it is today, I believe that they were the predecessors to the current curriculum taught in schools, where they emphasized the humanities. Their main goals appeared to be to restore, and prevent from being lost, many of the works by the Greeks and the Romans, as well as to create upstanding citizens. In addition, many of them worked to preserve true historical accounts, such that they and others could learn what happened, and why it had happened. Overall, what they did seems to have been greatly beneficial to the world.

Renaissance humanism is the study of classical antiquity in the medieval Europe from 14th century to 16th century. It arose as a result of utilitarian approach. Humanism sought to revive cultural and literary legacy along with moral philosophy of classical antiquity. The humanists sought to create citizens capable of speaking and writing the language in correct way. They achieved this through grammar, rhetoric, history and moral philosophy.
