2) What would you do to treat this patient? Explain how this treatment would be effective. (1pt)
Explanation / Answer
answer=
1] from above information i suspect the disease Osteoporosis
because the woman has a fracture & her bones are brittle & porous
osteoporosis means porous bone,is a disease in which the density & quality of bone are reduced as bones become more porous & fragile ,the risk of fracture is greatly increased .
The loss of bone occurs silently & progressively .it affects women of all ages ,most severly those over age 60 & predominantly who are thin, fair skin caucasian or Asian .
2 ] treatment of this patient = prevention is the better treatment .this would include an evaluation for use of estrogen supplement ,nutritional guidance with possible supplements ,maintaining a proper balance between activity & over activity.
once the diagnosis has been made ,treatment may include estrogen supplement ,nutritional supplements ,increase in weight -bearing activity, treatment of any underlying metabolic disease& nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory medications for pain control
