Question
Do the units you use to measure the volume of base effect your calculated value of k? Why or why not.
So this question is about rate constants. This specific example is from an organic chemistry lab where it was a first order reaction that used acid/base/indicator techniques to monitor the amount of base added to complete the reaction. We plotted ln(total volume-volume at time(x)/total volume) on the y axis and time in seconds on the x axis. Would the units not matter as long as they are constant? How should I answer this question. Thanks!
