Question
I am checking whether BRC is a target of miR-102 (Ginseng is a known target of miR-102). In order to test this, I use the Delta Delta C_T method to calculate fold change of expression, comparing expression of BRC in wild type versus miR-102^-l- cells (cells predicted to completely lack miR-102). Based on these data, answer the questions that follow: a) What was the MOST LIKELY predicted fold change for Ginseng? For BRC? BRIEFLY explain your rationale. b) What is the BEST conclusion from these data?Explanation / Answer
1. From the data, miR-102 has one fold expression of Ginseng. On the other hand, BRC level is somehow 0.9 fold expressed in the miR cells. Those are clearly observable in the graph.
2. The graph shows that in the absence of miR-102, cells get higher activity for Ginseng and BRC.
