Question
I did an experiment concerning Charle's Law. I used a pressure- volume apparatus that measured the difference in heights of water in a tube with one closed end and one open. I added water to the open side of the tube periodically and recorded the changes in height on both sides. I graphed the relationship between heights to indicate the inverse relationship between them. Please help me answer the following question.
1. How would your pressure vs volume graph differ if an actual volume (V) had been used rather than the difference in heights (height of the air column)?
Thanks!
Explanation / Answer
You will see the same relationship, the only thing that will change will be the "intercept" and the slope (evne thou it will be lineare in both cases)
The interesting of Charles law is that it relates two states, state 1 and 2... whatever change you see, it will be related with the output variable
