Question
on the pan Suppose you are working in a busy lab with multiple people sharing a given ana you are weighing something which you will only have to weigh once, such as, we some weigh paper, which you will immediately use to make a solution. Is it 5. lytical balance (like this one). If ighing out a reagent onto ok to use the balance's "tare" or "z ero' function to set the vessel's tare to zero? Why or why not? If not, what should you do instead? Now suppose you are weighing something that you will have to weigh again later. For example, suppose you are weighing out some sample into a crucible. Later in the procedure, you will heat the sample in the crucible to partially decompose it, and you will need to know the mass of the material that remains. Is it ok to use the balance's "tare" or "zero" function to set the tare to zero? Why or why not? If not, what should you do instead?Explanation / Answer
Gross weight (the total weight) = net weight (the weight of the goods) + tare weight (the weight of the empty container)
In first case zero function is good, beacuse you are not going to weigh any more with same piece of paper
However, in the second case you need to tare because, onece agan you are going to eweigh with the same container
so no need to measure your container weight once agin or releve your tension regarding weight of container in every case
any dought please make your comment, we will ready to answer you back
