4. A specific ms of oil with a heat of 2.418 J g c I. Calculate the amount of heat energy required, in k, to raise the temperature of the calorimeter from 25.00 C to 31.60 C. A. 4.91 kJ B. 11.9 kJ D. 20.8 kJ E. 28.7 5. A sample of chromium weighing 254 g was initially at a temperature of 25.88 c. It required 843 joules of heat energy to increase the temperature to 32.75 C. What is the molar heat capacity of the chromium? A. 21.6 Jmol cri B. 25.1 J mo C. 33.2 J mol C-1 D. 37.3 Jmol c 1 E. 17.4 J mol c l 6. A coffee cup calorimeter contains 480.0 grams of water at 25.00 c. To it are added: 380.0 grams of water 53.5 C 525.0 grams of water at 65.5 c Assuming the heat absorbed by the coffee cup is negligible, calculate the expected final temperature of the water. The heat of water 4.184 J A. 38.2 C B. 48.2 C C. 67.6 C D. 88.7 C E. 94.4 cExplanation / Answer
Since there are multiple question, I can answer only one question at a time. I will be answering only 1st question. Please post other questions as new queation.
Solution of question 4:
Here, we require to raise temperature of both the calorimeter with the oil.
Heat required to raise the temperature of empty calorimeter,
Q1= C1* (Tf - Ti)
= 950 * (31.6-25)
= 6270 J
Heat required to raise the temperature of Oil,
Q2= m*C2* (Tf - Ti)
= 8.5*10^2*2.418 * (31.6-25)
= 13564.98 J
Total heat required = Q1+Q2
= 6270 J + 13564.98 J
= 19834.98 J
= 19.8 KJ
