Question

If a mutuated papillomavirus cannot enter the nucleus pore of a host cell, what stages of the viral life cycle would be impaired, if any? If a mitigated filovirus( -) ssRNA virus cannot enter the nuclear pore of a host, what stages of the viral life would be impaired, if any? would either of these viruses be infections Why is a viral RNA polymerase gene necessary for ssRNA ? Why does the (-) ssRNA virus package a viral RNA polymerase into the virion, where the +ssRNA virus does not? Explanation / Answer

Ans) Viral RNA polymerase paly an important role in viral genome replication and transcription. Viral RNA polymerases are generally capable of carrying out multiple functions related to viral genome synthesis. The genome type and the specific needs of particular virus, RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, RNA-dependent DNA polymerase, DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, and DNA-dependent RNA polymerases are found in various viruses. Viral polymerases use variety of mechanisms to recognize initial binding sites, ensure processive elongation, terminate replication at the end of the genome, and also coordinate the chemical steps of nucleic acid synthesis with other enzymatic activities.

Ans) The (-) ssRNA virus is packaged a viral RNA polymerase into the virion while the +ssRNA vrus does not because the + ssRNA stand or positive strand RNAs can direct protein synthesis immmediately after entering into the host cell. The -ve strand RNAs are unable to synthesis protein into the host cell so they are pakaged with a viral RNA polymerase which can convert the -ve stands to +ve ssRNA that can synthesis the viral protein.
